Mshauri Omari Brown

Mshauri of the Ashanti Kingdom & Media Team Manager

Mshauri Omari Brown is a dedicated father, mentor, and media expert committed to empowering young men through The Males Place. As The Mshauri over the Ashanti Kingdom, he fosters leadership, resilience, and cultural awareness among the warriors he mentors. Since joining the organization in 2021, Omari has provided guidance and encouragement, using his own experiences growing up on the Southside of Chicago to help young men navigate their challenges.

As an experienced media and journalism professional, Omari helps the warriors develop essential skills in public speaking, professional on-camera presence, photography, videography, and social media responsibility. He teaches them how to navigate digital platforms like TikTok and Instagram while integrating manhood life skills, African history and culture into their learning. His mentorship helps bridge the gap between past and present, making history and tradition more relevant and engaging.

“A big part of my work involves meeting warriors where they are and connecting the past with the present by leveraging their everyday use of social media and photography. I teach them how to use digital platforms to help them see things through the lens of past generations, but in a modern way.”

Omari is also a key member of the media team, playing an essential role in maintaining brand consistency, managing the website, and strengthening social media presence for The Males Place. His expertise ensures that the organization’s messaging remains impactful and aligned with its mission. Through his dedication to mentorship, media, and cultural empowerment, Omari continues to shape the next generation of warriors, ensuring they step into the future with confidence, pride, and purpose.

With a bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism from Florida A&M University, Omari refined his skills in media production and sports journalism. His passion led him to create Franchise Sports, a sports television show that evolved into a non-profit educational media organization, providing hands-on training in journalism, broadcasting, and video production.

A former Minor League and semi-professional baseball player, as well as a high school catching coach and mentor, Omari uses his background in sports to instill discipline, leadership, and perseverance in the young men he mentors.

With over 13 years of experience in digital marketing, content creation, and brand strategy, Omari currently serves as the Communications & Marketing Manager at a healthcare company in North Carolina, where he oversees social media, website management, video production, and marketing initiatives. His ability to drive engagement and tell compelling stories translates seamlessly into his work with The Males Place, ensuring that the organization maintains a strong and impactful presence.

Mshauri Omari’s mentorship is driven by the powerful words of Kobe Bryant:
“The Mamba Mentality means constantly trying to be the best version of yourself. It’s a constant quest to be better today than you were yesterday.”
